Buddhism and children question?

From the standpoint of an early childhood educator I was wondering what sort of major adjustments a Buddhist child from, let’s say, an Asian country would have to make when transitioning to a child care centre in North America?

I’ve had the opportunity to work with a number of children from different parts of the world and with various religious or cultural backgrounds, and it’s always nice to be able to make the transistion as smooth as possible for the child, and understand how to honour and incorporate their background into the centre.

What would some of the major cultural differences that I should be aware of be, and what could I do to honour a Buddhist upbringing in my centre?

Thanks!
